Reading Railroad Director

The Reading Railroad Director will engage schools, community leaders, organizations, businesses and individuals to collectively address early childhood education and school readiness to drive systemic and measurable long-term impact. To position the organization as the leading force and community resource for school readiness and lifelong learning collaborations.

Essential Duties:

  • Initiate and build relationships with people who want to invest their time and money in Reading Railroad's mission and operations
  • Develop a community impact plan that includes goals, activities, strategies, outcomes, indicators and timelines
  • Identify issues and work with partners for solutions
  • Grant Writing & Management of Grants
  • Ability to Fund-raise and obtain Sponsorship's
  • Recruit, train, support and maintain volunteers for all programs

  • A bachelor's degree in business, social service or teaching is preferred
  • Excellent written & oral communications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead and motivate others effectively
  • Possess a valid driver's license and proof of insured vehicle
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check
