DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION STATEMENT

At United Way of Cass County (United Way), diversity, equity and inclusion are part of our daily work. We understand that the best solutions are crafted by diverse perspectives and stakeholders and seek to engage the entire community in our work.

We believe that diversity adds to organizational excellence when we utilize the skills, talents and resources of people of different backgrounds. By bringing together diverse individuals, many voices and perspectives can be heard and allows us to address issues more effectively in our community.

We oppose all forms of racism and discrimination, including those based on race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, national origin, pregnancy, ancestry, socio-economic status or any other category protected by law.

We recognize that structural racism/ethnic discrimination and other forms of oppression have contributed to disparities which we seek to dismantle in order to create a thriving community for everyone.

We use data and community feedback to drive our work. We will strive to ensure that the programs funded through United Way are serving populations that represent our community and work to break down barriers to advance equity.

We will continue to work with residents, public and private partners to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, supports, opportunities and networks they need to thrive.

United Way will continue to fight for the Health, Education and Financial Stability of each person in our community.

Inclusion is at the heart of what it means to Live United and to advance the common good.
